Dear Reader,

Every time I sit down to write my week in review, something goes wrong–and it always seems to happen with the pictures. Either wordpress malfunctions and won’t let me upload them, or my phone won’t send them to my computer via iMessage or, most recently, my email account won’t open on my web browser. Then, I’ll try troubleshooting for about five minutes before giving up and telling myself I’ll go back to it later, but I’ll forget and then sometimes a week goes by and I haven’t written a thing.

So, I’m just going to give a few highlights from the past two weeks, and I’ll edit the post later to add all the snap chats and random pictures that’ll add a bit of clarification to this mess.(Keep in mind that I write all of these with the pictures sitting next to me, so a lot of this doesn’t make much sense quite yet. Oops).

First, I finally went to Beat the Clock with some friends:

And Green Beer Day happened, but I look gross in all the pictures, so enjoy this shot of my friend drinking from a wine glass that was bigger than her head:

I FaceTimed Sarah a lot while waiting to FINALLY see her again:

And then I went to her show choir competition where they placed 3rd overall and Sarah got the award of best female dance of everyone!

Oh and Pi Day happened and my tweet got 3 retweets and 14 favorites which was pretty cool (s/o to Jaden for noticing and sending me this screenshot):

And sometimes I take pics like this to let Sarah know that I know she was my sister first and will always be the realest (I’m wearing a Phi Mu hat but her sweatshirt–kind of hard to see):

And of course we were reunited this week:

So we had to send some snaps to my brother

who is obviously sad he’s missing out on our sibling bonding

OH AND IN OTHER NEWS: I’m an adult. When I was a sophomore, I lost a baby tooth, and I thought that was the end of it. But nope, this is the end.

My tooth broke off a bit in my mouth maybe a week ago and I went in on Monday to get a filling, but my dentist noticed that this was, in fact, my last baby tooth. (They had a good chuckle when I told them that I’m 18).

So, the nurse goes, “no filling?” and he turns to me and, in his booming voice, exclaims, “I’m not fixing this! I’m gonna numb you up and pull that sucker out!” Such a sensitive one, that one.

But no picture. Because that’s gross.

So that’s what’s been happening in my life. Hope everyone else is somewhere sunnier and warmer than where I am (it’s snowing right now).

PS. Do yourself a favor and listen to the entire Hozier album if you haven’t done so already–Jackie and Wilson and Like Real People Do and Someone New are my current favorites (because it’s so hard to choose just one).

Dear Reader,

So I kind of procrastinated writing this post because week 10 was not really one for the books. But, I’ve got to follow through with this project so here’s my review of week 10:

It started in the worst way possible. Thursday morning I got up and had a banana, a granola bar, and a questionable chicken salad sandwich. I went to my classes, POTH practice, and a serenade at the arch, but I was feeling kind of funny the entire time.

By the time I got to Brandon Hall, I knew I was going to throw up. I was actually in some much discomfort that I actually took my toothbrush into the bathroom and was ready to  induce it myself. Luckily, it didn’t have to come to that.

But I did spend the night in the communal bathroom (sleeping on the floor in between these episodes) and scare some people who thought I was passed out from alcohol poisoning or something.

Eventually it all came to an end and I slept away the remainder of my Friday (meaning I had to miss Big/Little Reveal). Even the rest of the weekend turned out to be not that productive because I still felt queasy a lot. And I’m still not sure if this was food poisoning or just a stomach virus, but I sure won’t be eating chicken salad sandwiches for a while.

I also went to the hockey game on Saturday which was fun because we won! And my friend got to ride the zamboni.

And on Sunday I signed a lease on a house for junior year! I’m in love with everything about the house, and I’m so excited to live with the seven other girls that signed with me! It all just seems so far away right now–it’s weird to think of myself as a 20-year-old college student.

Finally,  the last  highlight of my week was POTH. This is a dance competition that raises money for a school for the deaf, and each sorority and fraternity makes a dance and competes. Only the pledge classes can participate, so it was a lot of fun to be a part of it for the one year I could and, even though we didn’t win, it was a blast to learn choreography and perform, seeing as I had never done anything like that before.

So that was my week. Maybe Week 11 will be a bit more memorable.

PS: Sorry for the lack of pictures. WordPress won’t let me upload any and it’s too annoying for me to try and figure out. But don’t worry, you’re not missing much.

Dear Reader,

What do I say week after week? Focus on the good. Always. Focus. On. The good. And this week, I’ve got to say, some pretty good things happened.

Starting with Thursday: I had an amazing dinner at Boulangerie

received this snap from my friend at UC who decided to look up my house on Google Maps, which I thought was hilariously random, but also weirdly heartwarming

got a text that made my day

and discovered a dress that ruined it

0227-black-blue-dress-3 Not really, but apparently that dress is black and blue.

I still don’t see it.

I also took my bed apart because I wanted to switched up the room and realized I had made a HUGE MISTAKE. But, luckily, I had some good friends who helped me put it back together when I realized I couldn’t do it alone.

Life is full of crazy metaphors when you want to find them.

Then on Friday I FINALLY got to meet my niece!

And I went home for Sarah’s dance competition, which I had to wake up for at 5:30 in the morning.

But yay for roadtrips and pretty sunrises and sister bonding.

Sarah also killed it with her dance team, if anyone was wondering.

We also got Mr. Freeze, a local ice cream shop that indicates the nearing of summer!!!

And I went to the talent show with Kennedy and we saw the DUFF with Sarah afterwards (sidenote: would recommend)

On Sunday I was welcomed to this notification

which meant the start of big/little week,

full of serenades

and embarrassing facebook pictures

As if this week couldn’t get any better, I had THE BEST day with Kassara and Desii at Pfeffer park.

I had to make a video for my Intro to Video Production class (which I might just post on here later) so we went sledding, played in the park, blew snow around, and found a pretty cool ice cave/fort/thing.

Prime selfie lighting, by the way.

In other news of this week: I got this bomb smoothie because they made too much and filled it ALL THE WAY to the top (rare for King Cafe)

and I cried my eyes out watched S3E14 of Scrubs and the most heartbreaking scene of Big Hero 6 again. No picture, but sometimes you just need a good tug at your heart strings, you know?

So that was my week–all the good minus the bad and the ugly.

It’s amazing how helpful an optimistic perspective can be. 🙂
